About Me
Since my teens i have been fascinated by the body and how it works. This interest took me in several different directions before settling on the Chiropractic profession as my ideal career.
I qualified in 2004 from the University of Surrey in Guildford following a 3 year Masters. In 2005 I began work at a busy clinic in Birmingham where I have worked in a clinic for 10 years now. We have lived in a little country village just outside of Shrewsbury and have been blessed with 3 amazing and lively children, including twins . We also have two very large dogs, so life is never dull!
As a qualified personal trainer and fitness instructor, I also worked for David Lloyd for a number of years and continue to have an interest in the rehabilitation side of treatment. I believe it is an essential part of treatment to ensure a prolonged and optimal recovery. With this in mind I encourage some very basic stretching and strengthening techniques as part of my maintenance care programme.
During the first few years of practice, both myself and husband (also a chiropractor) treated quite a number of patients who were experiencing problems with infertility. As parents ourselves we decided that we would like to do something to help. Following 2 problem free pregnancies of my own, including our twin pregnancy, we decided to join a non-profit organisation called Surrogacy UK and to cut a very long story short (if you would like more details then please ask!) I became a host surrogate for two couples, carrying first a single baby and then another set of twins for a different couple! This was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and our families remain close and firm friends.
Having carried 6 babies and had 4 smooth & enjoyable pregnancies, I have experienced first-hand the relief that chiropractic treatment can give during this demanding time and have developed a keen interest in treating pregnancy related conditions. I have also spent years treating babies and developing this with postgraduate courses as I have seen the benefits that can come from a very gentle but effective form of chiropractic treatment that can be carried out from birth.
I also have also been treating horses for over 10 years now after doing a postgraduate diploma in Veterinary Manipulation and as a keen horsewoman it is a wonderful side to my busy ‘human’ practice!
I feel very lucky to have such a passion for what I do and thrive on seeing the changes and benefits that Chiropractic treatment can have!
